A play with live performances of some of Donizetti’s most famous arias.
Donizetti, a world-famous Italian opera composer was born into a poor family in Bergamo in the early 19th century. He joined the local choir and impressed the cathedral choir master Mayr so much that he received a high-level musical education before he became famous throughout for his sacred music and then popular operas.
He wrote 63, of which Elisis d’Amour, Anna Boleyn, Don Paquale, and La Fille du Regiment are perhaps his most famous.
