Championing works composed by women, the Corelia Project is fighting to shift the gender imbalance so prevalent in classical music today. Join them in this debut concert as they explore outstanding composers past and present, making waves from both sides of the pond.
Experience the kaleidoscopic soundworld of Jennifer Higdon alongside the lush, pastoral sounds of Rebecca Clarke and Susan Spain-Dunk. Dive into Elizabeth Maconchy’s blazing, powerful Clarinet Quintet and the sheer joy of Valerie Coleman’s show-stopping Tzigane.
Set in the beautifully intimate and relaxed space of The Old Church, this concert will be the perfect opportunity to discover something new and to fall in love with composers that you won’t believe you’d never heard of!
Performed by the next generation of up-and-coming musicians, including the Morassi Quartet, clarinettists Magdalenna Krstevska and Sophie Glenny, and recent graduates of the Royal College of Music.
Please join us after the concert for drinks and a chat!
