Using solo cello and field recordings the live performance of Liz Hanks’ album Land explores the local and natural history of her neighbourhood in Sheffield. The music reflects on the loss of nature in the urban environment and forgotten natural worlds, whilst celebrating the green spaces that remain. She draws on her influences from a varied career of folk, Indian classical music, improvisation and minimalism. With support from Juliana Day (recorders and whistles).
