Orchestra in the Shape of a Pear, a flexible ensemble specialising in new music and 20th-century compositions, is giving its third instalment of the stripped back Pear Slices series in The Alexandra’s Piano Bar.
A selection of the players from the orchestra will explore the idea of two voices as one; multiple voices from one. Come for music by Anton Webern, Gordon Crosse and André Jolivet, as well as new music by Birmingham-based composers, Isa Gibbs and Zygmund de Somogyi.
Expect driving rhythms, implied ghost melodies and homogenous blends of sound spanning the full range of contemporary instrumental composition in a relaxed lunchtime setting.
