The judgements of others are real. They impact our lives, our families, our finances and often our health. Yet, when we are able to meet the suffering behind our own inner judge with kindness, we also meet the suffering behind the judgements of others, and we remember our inter-connectedness.
To surrender is not an invitation to be passive but to engage fully in each moment without the stress of wanting or needing it to be otherwise. Through surrender, our argument with reality quietens down as we allow life to unfold just as it is, in all its perfection and imperfection, comfort and discomfort.
Ruth Phillips and Rebecca Herman, both mindfulness practitioners and professional cellists, offer a supportive space in which to remember you are not alone in what can often feel like a brutal profession. In this workshop you will learn simple meditation and compassion techniques that, when practiced regularly, have the capacity not only to bring you inner peace as you navigate the world of competitions, auditions, exams and trials, but to contribute to a more peaceful future for the world.
