Marrying music, makers and materials, this funfair of fabric, stone, metal and glass celebrates the dazzling world of craft. Marking our first-ever collaboration with BOTHY, Craft will tell the stories of crafters and designers - those that dare to imagine a new life for the humblest of natural resources, remoulding them into something beautiful and new, transforming our perspectives in the process.
Taking place in Manchester’s Craft and Design Centre in the heart of the Northern Quarter, this vocal performance will take form in a patchwork of folk and choral song, performed by some of the most exciting vocal artists in the North West.
Featuring three world premières from composers at the Royal Northern College of Music, alongside contemporary works and arrangements by various local composers, this event ruminates on the transformative role of craft in both Manchester and the UK’s history.
The outlets in the Craft and Design Centre will be staying open specially for the event, so that audiences can wander through shops before the concert.
