Donne, Women in Music – a foundation dedicated to achieving gender equality in the music industry – celebrates the power, diversity and genius of women composers from past and present at the Royal Albert Hall.

The concert will include works by Florence Price, Ilse Weber, Catarina Domenici, and Kristina Arakelyan, as well as three world premieres: Girls are coming out of the woods by Ella Jarman-Pinto, Next Chapter by Alexandra Hamilton-Ayres – both specially commissioned for this event – and Ascensio by Julie Cooper, written for Rebeca Omordia.

Joined on stage for this special performance are incredible artists who continue to make a significant contribution to a more equal and diverse classical music scene:

  • Gabriella Di Laccio – soprano & Founder of Donne, Women in Music

  • HER Ensemble – a string collective dedicated to making a positive impact on the gender gap in the industry and Donne, Women in Music ambassadors.

  • Rebeca Omordia – pianist & Founder of the African Concert Series
