The celebrated Attacca Quartet present a sumptuous contemporary feast, including Caroline Shaw’s elegant Plan & Elevation and John Adams’s first quartet (‘exuberant, funky, and… exactingly nuanced’ New York Times) alongside Maurice Ravel’s vital masterpiece in the form. Passionate advocates of contemporary music, they also bring pieces from their recent Sony album Real Life, which saw them plunging head-first into the electronic world ‘which turns out wasn’t as far away from modern classical as we thought’, including captivating arrangements from Flying Lotus and German cellist-composer Anne Müller.
